Branded criminally irresponsible, yet once thought of as a "noble" profession - the UK fire service and the people who serve in it have already seen much change over the years. However, things are about to change more rapidly than ever, and inevitably, th

So now we've got Britains most senior Police officer and the Mayor of London telling us it's inevitable.... I'm not gonna say much more on the subject other than to say WE ARE NOT PREPARED FOR IT. The security services have done a marvellous job to date and they continue to do so and I hope that runs and runs... BUT, WHEN it happens (as we're repeatedly being told it will happen) - we wont be prepared. We've had over 2 years elapse since 9/11 - the so called wake-up call and only now are the powers that be starting to question where the resources are for those who'll be front line in the mop-up.

The government has - and will continue - to host ridiculous publicity/media opportunity exercises to show how well prepared we are... Don't make me laugh! Well, it wont make me laugh because it just isn't a bloody laughing matter. The preparations being made to date are nothing short of shambolic and those responsible for equipping, training and preparing us for it should hang their heads in shame!

But that's enough of that...

On a lighter note - what a wonderful programme the BBC have commisioned with "Hustle" - well written, well casted, well acted, well shot, produced and edited... Superb entertainment. I've heard lots of complaints about the plots being full of holes - good God! It's entertainment... and it's only an hour long! The "cons" are so elabortate there just isn't time to show every twist and turn.

It's a superb show and if people have not taken the opportunity to view it yet, I recommend you give it a go - I'm sure you'll be impressed.
